it is very good hotel with water activities:snorkeling near hotel, pool, cayak, etc. Hotel is excellent, convenient, 10 minutes from airport. bus and ferry to Atlantis, Nassau. We had a wonderful time with my 13-year old daughter: quite and relaxing.

Well...FIrst let me say I am an "insider" to the hotel indusrty, as my husband and I are hoteliers in Charleston, South Carolina. Dealing with the public is difficult and this hotel deals with the public beautifully. A guest to the Bahamas should be aware that the inhabitants of the island are just that. They live in a goregous setting in the middle of the Atlantic and there is no reason to rush. SO relax! this hotel has a fabulous staff that greets and meets your every need. They are polite soft spoken and well trained and believe me, we've been going there for 30 years and the training has finally paid off. The rooms are CLEAN, the lobbies are CLEAN the Restaurants are CLEAN the employees are CLEAN! every where you turn there is someone to wish you a good morning, afternoon or evening. There is interest in you as a guest and your satisfaction is paramount. The hotel is large and spread out with several towers, once you get the routes down its fun time. Beach is right outside the back doots of the hotel. A guest can reserve a "cabana", but its really a sunbrella tent, drinks and snack are provided by a smiling accomodating staff member. The pool is large with a small but furious water slide. Alittle too fast for some tastes, don't confuse it with Atlantis' slide this is not a hear stopper its for everyone. The pool itself can be a little cleaner there was some debris floating by with so many bodies it needs a boost to its filteration system, but its OK. There is a sea lagoon and water activities. Great fun and it won't cost an arm and a leg. Can't wait to go back. More convienent and than Atlantis.

Was worried when I read reviews on here after I booked. Here's what I found- good & bad: Good: Only the new/renovated rooms were available. Looked just like the picture- bed was average, duvet covers were great! Asked nicely for an upgrade to an ocean view, was patient and we actually got one! (no charge) Great little shack across the street with cheap daquiri's- try the mango- fresh fruit with rum! Yum! Pool & beach area were beautiful. Also easy to reach the Sheratons outdoor facilties- water slide was awesome- even for us "big kids" (FYI-I was there with my same-sex partner and didn't receive any negative looks etc from staff or patrons) Not so Great: Our refrigerator didn't get very cold inside If you're going for the casino- it's a bit small The "hotel association" sales pitch was pretty pushy, but we got off our snorkeling trip! The hotel stores were spotty in the open hours, but who cares- go outside it's gorgeous! The hotel restaurants were too pricey for us- per person. Could get hamburgers, icecream etc for under . Also hotel is 5 miles from Nassau where cheaper fast food was. Bottled water cost in restaurant. The buses are only but stop at 6pm. Taxi's operate for 15/ride, which adds to your dinner costs if you wanted to go back to Nassau. I saw many complaints on this hotel for slow response time, etc. Just remember that you're going to a different culture that self-proclaims to run on "Bahamian time" -you will enjoy your stay. If you are seeking 5 star treatment with the absolute best service and facilties- try the Atlantis! We are young professionals who had a luxurious, reasonably priced vacation. We were very happy with it!

Hotel dirty, food very expensive, service slow with attitude. 8 a day maid gratuity weather she was there or not. There was a hole in the wall of our room, tiny squiggly bugs in the sink, broken window in the elevator and atrium , roof was leaking! They tried to fix it up by painting the tile in the bathroom beige, there was paint dripped on the curtins by the balcony. The pool was closed half the week the water slide was only opened one afternoon. Expect to get hounded to buy time share! Will NEVER be back!

I give this hotel a 2.5 out of 5: 1 being unstayable, 5 being the best thing ever and 3 being what you would expect from a typical resort like this for this price. The Hotel is older, under renovation, so they are trying to improve; they are not neat when working though. The room is nice, newly renovated and modern, comfortable and clean(best part of the hotel). The staff is poor, I think the standard 15% gratuity makes them not work for their money or it could be a culture thing. The grounds of the Wyndham are not nice, run down and sort of industrial by the pool, but you get to use the Sheraton and the other Cable Beach resort grounds and pool, so that is great (mainly we used the Sheraton, nice!). Restaurants are good, not 5 star, but decent yet pricey, as is everything. We put the breakfast menu on the door one night, but it was never picked up and when we called, the phone systems had problems, so we never had a chance to use room service. Also didn't appreciate several set areas where they try to rope you in with free gifts to hear a time-share pitch or something of the sort.
If you get a good deal on the hotel it is worth it, and it seems it will be getting better due to renovations, but do not expect to be pampered or blown away by the place, just a place to sleep while you enjoy the Sheraton's ground and the Bahamas in general.

Spent four days at resort, wish I could have left after the first day. Had to change rooms 4 times within 12 hours. 1st room, nothing worked, not even the phone was on the 10th floor...
2nd room we has the view of the garbage and trash, and propane tanks, (I spent well over 170.00 a night for that). Never had any hot water to take a shower. 3rd room, we got ice for our ice bucket, I would not have let my cat drink out of that, Black junk all over it, I let it melt then took pictures of it. Terrible. Was suppose to be beer in our room, never got it, had to call for room service, they tolf me they were 5.00 each, time tell got to my room it was 30.00 for 4 beers, well they had to add deliver charges, and tips. BEWARE of hidden charges. they also charge for maid service every day, and resort fees for staying there. (Is that not why I am paying 170.00 a night?) Third morning, power went out in out tower, we did not even have water. Had to go to the spa to get warm water, and the water was dirt, looks like everyone else decided to go there and take a bath> LOL> This was the worst vacation I have ever been on.. I am seld travel agent, And I would not recommend anyone to go there.

This is my 2nd stay at the Wyndham and I would never return. I was aware that the hotel needs a makeover, but when I found body hair shavings in my bed that was it for me. That is absolutely disgusting!!!! I have been to the Bahamas many times, but I would never stay here again. The food is good, but extremely overpriced. The pool is always freezing. It is one thing for a hotel to be old, but this hotel is old & DIRTY!!!!!!! If you are coming here the Riu is not the best, but it is worth the price. Atlantis if you can afford it is the best and absolutely beautiful!!!!
